At Iowa State University, the residence halls are divided into smaller groups called "houses," which can accommodate up to 50 students each. First-year students have the freedom to choose any of the residence halls, while current students have the option to stay in their current residence or move to another one. Transfer students have the flexibility to select any of the residence halls or specialized options that cater to students over 19 years of age. Graduate students, on the other hand, have the opportunity to explore housing options in Wallace Hall, Frederiksen Court, and SUV.
