Established in the year 1874, the Colorado School of Mines is a public research university located in Golden, Colorado. The university provides undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics, science, and engineering with an emphasis on energy and the environment.

The Trads, Mines' first residence halls, consist of four halls: Morgan, Thomas, Bradford, and Randall. They're located near the library and offer single, double, and triple rooms in a communal-style design with gendered floors.
