While Kissam is slightly distanced from main campus buildings, its proximity to West End Avenue and 21st Avenue is appreciated, and the enchanting paths and trees along the way make for a pleasant commute. Dining is convenient with an on-site dining hall and the popular Kissam Munchie Mart, where residents can use meal swipes for various offerings, including unique acai bowls. Vandy dorms come in many different styles; traditional single/double rooms, 3-4 person apartments, 10 person houses, and residential college dorms that include singles, doubles, and suites that accommodate 4-6 people. First-year students are intentionally grouped together on Commons, which is where all the freshman dorms are. Upperclassmen dorms are spread out across campus; some near the engineering buildings, others in the middle of campus, and others scattered around. One thing to keep in mind is that Vandy is shifting away from traditional dorms and in the process of pivoting towards a pure residential college system!
