Maple Hall Reviews

University of Washington West Campus

Reviews Summary

Maple Hall is a vibrant college dormitory that provides both a blend of comfort and convenience in a modern design. Students commend its strategic location close to engineering classes and popular culinary spots on the 'Ave'. Its abundance of study spaces, two kitchens, and four study rooms per floor, makes it the preferred choice for most students. It's particularly admired for its hi-tech facilities such as Area 01 and immediate access to the college's West Campus dining and mail area at Lander. Each room in Maple Hall, especially corner rooms, offer spectacular views of the Seattle skyline and are noted for their spaciousness for doubles, or singles, offering ample storage, loft beds, and a clean private bathroom. However, students pointed out that triples could feel a bit cramped. The dorm gets warm in spring and early fall so bringing a fan is advisable. Despite some concerns about the close proximity of towel racks in the bathrooms and occasional intrusions from homeless individuals, the building is generally secure with automatic lock doors and switches to keep them unlocked if preferred. Notably, Maple Hall seems to lend itself to a great community experience. However, it is highlighted for being somewhat expensive.

I think if you can get around the fact that there are gonna be occasional homeless interactions then I think maple is one of the best forms at UW. The amenities of having free access to playing pool and other games in area one to being right next the ave. Makes it one of the best locations to stay especially for you to stay at especially in your freshman year. However the only con I have is the uncleanliness of the kitchen at times however most study rooms and lounges are generally clean. However I believe the pros outweigh the cons, and although you might feel FOMO not living in north campus, it’ll wear out and you’ll thank me later.

Highlight: Homeless dude started a trash can fire at 5 am and we all had to evacuate into the rain.
Quiet if your window isnt facing the courtyard. South facing dorms can see seattle skyline/rainier. Common room couches are unstable and blocky but push the table against the back of the couch to make it more comfortable

the dorm is on the street, so homeless people sometimes go in but nothing serious has happened. maple is close to the ave which is very convenient if you want access to yummy food. the room is spacious but can get really hot in the spring/early fall. you can loft the beds and there's a lot of storage. the bathrooms are nice but the racks for towels are close to each other so your towel might be touching your roommate's towel.

Maple is a great dorm to live in especially if you are an engineering student. It is right near the Ave and is an easy walk to all of the engineering classes

It is homey and quiet but sometimes sketchy because homeless people have walked inside before. Spacious if you get a double but triples suck.

Wow awesome dorm, met lots of friends. The beds and desks were great. I stayed here again sophomore year. I would recommend to anyone!

The dorm was very nice since it was pretty new at that time. They have plenty study spaces and clean rooms. My only gripe was my room was a converted double to a triple, therefore it was pretty small. Other than that, the whole building is very clean and the laundry machine was top of the notch.

All west campus housing is great, but Maple is the best since they have two kitchens on each floor of the building while most other dorms only have one or two for the whole building. Two kitchens + four study rooms on each floor, plus all the added common areas and conference rooms give plenty of options for places to work and hangout with friends. Area 01 is right downstairs and Local Point is next door, so probably the best dorm choice in my opinion. Highly recommend.

Maple Hall's got Area 01, which is already pretty awesome. Like many of UW's dorms, it's pretty new and modern, next to the West Campus dining hall and mail pickup area in Lander. Easy walk to campus, although the stroll for business students is an uphill journey.

Good dorm that has pretty much everything you want. Has clean private bathrooms (showerhead strength could be stronger) and also has Area 01 in the building which is a pretty cool space to hang out and play play ping pong. There are also 2+ study rooms on every floor but most of them are taken during midterm/finals season. There are also 2 kitchens on every floor with a TV so you can cook and watch movies. The kitchens can get a little bit messy depending on who lives on your floor but someone comes and cleans it up every morning.

The rooms themselves aren't bad but in a triple it gets extremely cramped so I recommend going for a double or a single.
