Tark is a terrible dorm. Our room is a converted triple so it made things really cramped and it was worse especially if it was hot because there is no AC. BUT, what I will say is what makes Tark fun is the people. Our floor and RA are great. I met so many people and we're all friendly with each other. Bathroom is very old and it can get messy but the cleaners really try and do their best to keep it clean. The washers flood all the time all the time so don't be surprised if you walk in and there is just standing water. Overall, the dorm is terrible, but it's an experience. The people at Tark make it fun to live there so don't be afraid and say hi.

Best male dorm on campus, hands down. Lived here Freshman year and I'd have to say the community is top. Would definitely recommend living here for your first year if you really want the true college dorm experience. First week we all just walked around knocking on doors and getting to know each other, playing sports, grabbing meals together. Great memories made here, you won't find any better male dorm community on campus. Bathrooms are a bit rough but honestly what do you expect, only adds to the vibes in my opinion. 9/10

+ Great location, it's right in front of the Co-rec, Slater hill (easy access for skiing when it snows), Wiley dining court, and Ford dining court. Though, it is a bit far (walk-wise) from the PMU and Chauncey area. + The Shark Tank is a cool place to hang out with TVs, ping pong, and pool. + Lounge has nice study area with grand piano, also A/C. - No A/C so it is almost unbearable during the beginning of the year. - Very old building, dirty, and outdated with old tech. Also musty cause it's an all guys dorm. - Probably the worst bathrooms I've ever seen. Had brown water come out when I tried to brush my teeth. Tark is the absolute best place to live on campus as a guy. The vibe it gives off is just immaculate. Doors are always open and there’s always people looking to hang. The ability to make friendships with the dudes on your floor is second to none and it’s just all around the best

Living with a triple in a double room. Housing crisis shoved us three in a double, did the math and it turns out we are paying more than others who live with a double in a double. This place is a scam, avoid at all costs. The bathrooms are disgusting, toilets and showers flooding. Boys like the piss on the toilet seats for fun, so when you need to take a crap, it's a struggle to find a clean toilet.

Tarkington is really old and pretty run down. Decent location, but everything else about it isn’t great.

God awful. Female bathroom is all the way downstairs in the main lobby area. Rooms and hallways smelled like ass all the time, no elevators, no a/c in rooms, dark rooms too. Musty smell. Okay location.

Horrible lighting, wasn't bright enough for the open closets lol. The views are fairly good if you face the west (east is a sorority and people drive in and out with their bright lights on all night every night even with the blinds closed it lights up the room) theres a trash truck or food delivery truck that drives on the east side towords Wiley dinning EVERY DAMN MORNING at 7am and woke me up everytime. So if you were able to pick a side of the building, make sure its the west side (corec side NOT Ford dining side). bathrooms come straight from the 1970s and the layout is horrible. (the redone bathrooms in Cary are much better) The lobby is A/C so do homework there but beware of the piano because its horribly out of tune and makes anyone ... See more

Tarkington Hall is amazing in its location to all of fun spots on campus. While the lack of AC sucks, it forces you to meet new people. Before Ingot to campus I wanted to switch dorms knowing it was an all boys dorm, but after living there for a year I wouldn’t want it any other way. My friends from Harrison and McCutcheon wished they lived in Tarkington Hall!

This dorm is old as fuck and kinda musty, but the all boys wave is absolutely legendary. Proximity to dining courts is unbeatable for your inevitable freshman bulk, and greek life/sports are close too.
