The room is more spacious than other freshman dorms, you get 184 square feet. The rooms can get very humid and hot, I lived on the 6th north floor (it was all girls). My dorm often got spiders and some flying bugs, no ants though. The bathrooms can be clean or messy depending on which floor you are on. Some people didn't flush their toilets. Showers are better than most residential buildings, there are two curtains per stall so you have a changing space and a shower curtain in each stall. Dining hall wasn't open on weekends, so you have to spend money in downtown or walk at least 6 minutes to the nearest dining hall (South or Whitney), which was kind of a drag. Food was ok, not too memorable, precut honeydew and cantaloupe tasted funny. Pos...

I mean, it’s a nice dorm in terms of location because it’s so close to Storrs Center, but everything else is kind of mediocre. The kitchens were always messy because people never cleaned up, the room was deathly hot, and the walls were so thin that I could hear people talking next door. Also, because it’s a freshman only dorm, people went absolutely crazy every day and ran around slamming doors and screaming in the hallways. This continued during finals week, so if you’re looking for a place where you can actually study, this probably isn’t it. People also liked to set off the fire alarm every now and then for fun. However, Buckley has a nice dining hall (love the fruit) and it was nice to be able to eat whenever I wanted.

Compared to other dorms I’ve visited, the rooms in Buckley are pretty big and the bathrooms are pretty nice. My only complaint would be the location as it’s pretty far from all other freshmen dorms so it can be hard to meet people outside of Honors. The walk to center of campus isn’t that bad even though it may look far and it’s nice to be next to Storrs center.

Bathrooms are really nice...dining hall needed some work, but I appreciated its convenience. The new washing machines are great! The rooms are a good size, I enjoyed my time at Buckley :)

Buckley is underrated. The dining hall is attached (but is closed on weekends), laundry machines got upgraded, and the rooms are pretty spacious. A/C isn't really necessary except for the first few weeks of the fall semester. Location can be far from some classes, but being close to Storrs center is absolutely worth it. The only better freshman dorm is Werth, if you can get into an LC there.

Buckley gets a lot of crap, but I truly believe it offers some one of the best Rate 1 options on campus. The rooms are designed well - not too small, symmetrical, and open to floor space in the closets. The bathrooms are great for communal bathrooms here. There's an open lounge on every floor, as well as music practice rooms, a bike storage room, and a mailroom. And honestly, Buckley Dining Hall is not that bad. It's limited in options, which makes it hit or miss, but the quality of the food is not any worse than other dining halls in my opinion. The only knock is the location, as it's obviously fairly far from the center of campus. But you get used to the walk, and it's also right next to Storrs Center if you frequent that. Overall, I enjo...

At first I wasn’t excited about living in buckley, but it really grew on me. It feels weird to say but I’m gonna miss the place. The dining hall isn’t great but is convenient. Elevators are the fastest on campus I swear. Living in honors was fine and it was cool to see people in my dorm in my classes. Some of the bigger doubles on campus as well. Lounge on every floor. Had a lot of fun.

Buckley is probably one of the best places to be if you are a freshman. The dorms and the building itself are great and the in-house dining hall isn't too bad nowadays. The community here is friendly and awesome to hang around with. Only real negative is the location. Sure being near downtown Storrs could have its uses but walking to classes tends to be a hike unless you really know how to use the bus system.

Great first dorm for a freshman. Might not be close to class buildings but makes up for it by being close to food. Super convenient for the weekend.

Buckley is an excellent freshman dorm with traditional doubles and communal bathrooms. The rooms are slightly bigger than other doubles on campus. I had no complaints living there. The location can be a far (15-20min) walk to buildings on the other end of campus but the convenience of being right next door to CVS, Price Chopper, and the 24hr 7/11 definitely is a fair trade off. Buckley also has the convenience of having the dining hall, mail room, and laundry room all within the building. There are lounges on each floor.
