Best SDSU Dorms

Here are the 5 best dorms at San Diego State University. This ranking was put together based off of what students rated SDSU dorms on the RateMyDorm SDSU Page.

    Huāxyacac San Diego State University

    Rated 3.9 / 5 stars by 6 SDSU students

"It’s a very new dorm, so everything you get and see is super nice. The bathrooms have rooms for the toilet and shower (still communal) instead of stalls. However, for three people in the room size we got didn’t make sense, it was cramped and hard to be in when all of the roommates are in there."

    Maya San Diego State University

    Rated 3.9 / 5 stars by 5 SDSU students

"Maya and Olmeca are practically the same, but in Maya you could get a great view of the pool and sunset. Great location and great vibes, and the learning communities are a good pro to living in Maya. The amenities are all amazing, but people do say that Maya is the worst dorm, but honestly it’s been really nice living here. "

"As a second year, living in Toltec was way better than expected. Before living here I had only heard bad things about the Tecs. However, the living space was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I share a room with my roommate and we have a walk in closet and a bathroom in our room. I think the sizes of the room are big enough for two people to put all their stuff and be comfortable. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all good sizes for a college apartment. We have enough room for all the appliances and lots of cupboard space. The only bad thing would be that there are no ceiling lights in the bedrooms or living rooms so they give you a lot of lamps. Overall, I liked living in Toltec and it may be a little farther from campus compared to the other options but having all of the other apartments here is nice. "

    Tenochca San Diego State University

    Rated 4.1 / 5 stars by 7 SDSU students

"I enjoy living here but I would say that getting along with my floor has helped a lot with that. Being in the same learning community is very helpful because you get to be with people that have similar interests with you as well. One of the cons is that we are the furthest away from the center of campus compared to zura and olmeca/maya but it’s manageable "

South Campus Plaza San Diego State University

    Rated 4.7 / 5 stars by 9 SDSU students

"The room itself is fairly spacious. All dorms here are triples. Students who live in these dorms have there own sink and bathroom. It is conveniently located close to the student union, trolley station, and restaurants. "
