Stony Brook University (SBU) is a public research university in Stony Brook, New York.

In corridor-style housing, rooms typically accommodate two residents who share a bathroom cleaned daily with the floor. Each room is furnished with two beds, dressers, desks, and closets, with a public lounge available for socializing. Air conditioning is only available in bedrooms on the fourth floor of Roosevelt Community. Suite-style housing accommodates between four to six residents who share a bathroom cleaned weekly. Each suite includes a private living room area with two sofas and a table. Rooms in suite-style housing vary in size, with air conditioning provided in Living Learning Community suites.
