Walsh Reviews
Boston College
Reviews Summary
Walsh is a dorm that garners mixed reviews from those who've lived there, reflecting its unique character and varied experiences. Its prime location offers proximity to the gym, mail room, and the Mods, which are big draws for students, especially those who enjoy partying on weekends. However, its distance from classes and dining halls is often noted, making it a lengthy 10-20 minute walk depending on your pace. The building's maintenance leaves much to be desired, with mice, mold, and a lack of air conditioning being common complaints. Privacy and cleanliness can be issues, particularly in shared areas like bathrooms, with many residents acknowledging its slightly grimy feel. Nonetheless, some students find charm in Walsh’s raw and unpolished atmosphere, embracing it for the social opportunities. Large double rooms and decent study rooms offer some comfort amidst the chaos. Overall, Walsh might not suit everyone, but it offers distinct experiences that some students cherish and others are relieved to leave behind.

I liked living here. It was close to the gym, had the mail room there, close to the Mods. It was far from classes and dinning hall and kind of desolated during the evenings.

Gross building, the only redeeming qualities are access to the mods and the mail room. Mice, mold, and no AC are absolutely awful. People may trick you into thinking this is the best sophomore housing - only if you’re a guy who throws parties every weekend.

You know what you’re signing up for with Walsh, and it’s definitely not for everyone but if you like it you love it. It’s pretty gross for sure especially the bathrooms (kinda hard to keep them clean with 8 guys) but if you embrace it living in Walsh will be some of the most fun you have at BC (IMO). Also the person saying it’s a 20 minute walk to class is bs it’s probably more like 10-12 walking slowly

Room was pretty big for a double and the study rooms were very nice. But the room had no air conditioning (which in the humid New England heat was awful) and Walsh is a 15 minute walk from classes, and a 20 minute walk from most of the other dorms. My roommate selection was bad; my roommate smoked so much marijuana that the room reeked of pot and I had to clean up after him. He and his friends played video games all day and night, and when I asked him to accommodate my schedule he blew me off. Sometimes I had to sleep in the study rooms because my roommate and his friends were in the room playing games at midnight. Eventually I moved out and I'm glad I did

Your chance to experience life in the projects. Grimey as hell, but absolutely perfect. Enjoy it while you can.

Room never felt truly clean and it's hella far away from everything. Least it has laundry and mail.
