Best UT Austin Dorms

"I had a bigger room than the usual jester and the location was far better - its on 21st, there's only few floors to go up, and there's no big lobby to go through. i lived on the ground floor and was able to get on 21st in literally 15 seconds from my room. that made such a difference my freshman year."

"Overall pretty good. Overpriced but offered great access to amenities and was close to classes. Renovated room. Live on the first floor to avoid elevator traffic"

"Hot water is sometimes an issue (especially at the start and end of each semester) and elevator times can be annoying, but you can’t beat the location and having J2/JCL/JCM/Jendy’s/etc right there. Also having so many people was a plus for me because it meant most of my friends were close."

"The Castilian is probably the best in terms of freshmen living experience. The staff is very nice and always willing to help out in any way possible. If you are looking at options for dorms your number 1 option should be The Castilian. "

"Room seemed larger than some of the alternative dorms, and the private bathroom was definitely a plus. The proximity to the bus stop and the cafe on the ground floor were really convenient too."
