    Andrews Hall

    based on 2 reviews

To me Andrews Dorm Was neck and neck with Carothers in terms of quality in the honors quad. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and generally empty whenever you shower. I didn't really like how the floors are divided by gender but it's whatever. Try not to live on the first floor as it's a major thoroughfare and can be loud at times at night.

I also don't really recommend living here if your honors program is small, as most people tend to make friends with just people in their same program. - 4 years ago

    Moore-Hill Hall

    based on 3 reviews

Moore-Hill is really close to the center of campus, which makes it easy to access everything. It's close to Cypress Bend Cafe, the best on-campus food. The rooms are clean and new but small, with very little storage space. - 4 years ago

    Jester East

    based on 17 reviews

    Jester East at UT Austin

It was especially convenient living in Jester East given the close proximity I had to all my classes as well as extracurricular events. It made me commute on campus more more quick and convenient. It was also easy to make friends and socialize in my dorm because the dining hall acted as an accessible spot/time to hangout and convene with others. Some ones I will say though are the lack is maintenance in the dorms and thin walls. - 11 months ago

    Kinsolving Hall

    based on 5 reviews

Kins is the BEST if you’re an engineering/pre-med student. It’s super close to all the engineering buildings and also really close to Guad and West Campus, so there’s always stuff to do. Jester and adj. building are a pretty far walk which could be a little annoying, but Kins Dining is well worth it- you’ll have the best food on campus just downstairs. The communal bathrooms are usually pretty clean and we always had hot water, unlike some of the upper floors of Jester. The communal study rooms were nice and quiet too. Being around all girls takes a little anxiety out of being in a dorm, but people aren’t always the most welcoming- you’re more likely to find a tight community on your floor in Jester. Also, having your bed on the floor and decent closet size was really nice. It’s quieter than other dorms but really close to the more fun stuff around campus- overall 4.5/5. They have private bathrooms if you want, but the communal were honestly not bad at all compared to Jester or Creekside. - 4 years ago

    Castilian

    based on 5 reviews

The Castilian is probably the best in terms of freshmen living experience. The staff is very nice and always willing to help out in any way possible. If you are looking at options for dorms your number 1 option should be The Castilian.

    Brackenridge Hall

    based on 2 reviews

Great location. Get to dining hall faster than people in Jester. Great windows with lots of light. Built in wooden cabinets. No elevator. Laundry in basement. Loved living here. Much better than honors, Jester, Kinsolving, and LLC rooms. - 2 years ago

    Duren Hall

    based on 4 reviews

    Duren Hall at UT Austin

The dorm and the building are satisfactory and what you would expect from any college dorm. Each room has a bunk bed that you share with your roommate with a connecting bathroom. However, the dorm is on the corner of North campus so if I had the opportunity I would've stayed somewhere else like Jester West because that is where more of the classes were close to and where more students hung out, especially Freshmen. The closest cafeteria to Duren was in Kinsolving, which is about 3 min walk away. There is also a west campus bus stop right outside, which could take you to the other side of campus in about 15 min. Otherwise, it would probably be a 15 min walk to Jester side if you're a fast walker like me. - 2 years ago

    Jester West

    based on 11 reviews

    Jester West at UT Austin

Staying at the Jester West Residence Hall was overall a pleasant experience for my freshman year. The rooms were not the most spacious but were enjoyable. All of the furniture that came with the room was clean and durable. The shared suite bathrooms were really nice to have but I heard the community bathrooms were not bad for the most part. It was mostly quiet throughout the day and the only time it really got noisy was maybe some of the weekends. The only complaint about the noisiness I had was the slamming of doors. It could be heard from down the hall if a door was slammed. The location of Jester West was definitely one of the best perks of living there. There was a dining hall attached to the dorm building and the main walkway of the campus was right outside. - 2 years ago

    San Jacinto Hall

    based on 5 reviews

Dorms are tied with Duren for the nicest on campus. San Jac is the most expensive though. Lots of student athletes live here and it’s close to the stadium/south campus buildings. Only con is that there is one laundry room for the whole residence hall, and the south tower has a reputation for constantly smelling like marijuana. If the price point works for you, San Jac is a solid option for UT students. - 11 months ago
