The best dorms at UMD are Johnson-Whittle, Pyon-Chen, Prince Fredrick, and Oakland Hall. All of these dorms were built fairly recently and therefore are very spacious and have modern layouts, dorms, and amenities. However, to get into these dorms you would likely have to be part of an honors or living learning program, so any dorm with AC would be the next best option, such as La Plata and Cumberland which also have favorable locations near the Yahentamitsi Dining Hall and the Eppley Recreation Center.

The best dorms at UMD are Prince Frederick Hall, Pyon Chen Hall, Johnson-Whittle Hall, La Plata Hall, and Ellicott Hall. Prince Frederick is on South Campus, and the rest are on North Campus with the best North Campus dorm being Pyon Chen (however, this dorm is mostly for Honors College students or students in a special LLP).
