Number 5
Ryerson Hall
based on 7 reviews
"The rooms are all doubles or singles, and feel shockingly more spacious than you would think. Location-wise you are right next to the market and other places like Trader Joe's and Rite-Aid. The noise is fine almost always except for on weekends when baseball games are played across the street and you can't really sleep in (if you sleep in until noon). The biggest problem is the bathrooms. Some of the stalls are uncomfortably cramped and if someone starts throwing their food out there ants will come. Fortunately it gets cleaned every day but it can get annoying." - 1 year ago

Potter Hall
based on 7 reviews
"The elevators would break down a LOT but the repair staff worked often and diligently according to students’ maintenance requests and complaints. It was usually the floor’s students making the bathrooms a mess but custodial staff were pretty good about resetting the quality every day. My biggest qualm with this hall is that there was only a water refill station on the first floor where most halls had them on every floor. Potter’s a bit old. It doesn’t have a kitchen on the first floor either but Wall Hall, with its decked out kitchen, is only a short walk away." - 4 years ago

Currant Hall

"Currant is great. Lived in a single and got a nice little space for myself. I'm a notororiously picky sleeper, but with a foam mattress pad from home my bed was comfortable. Bathrooms are frequent throughout the floor so if you have to pee in the middle of the night like me, you don't need to fear. The building is nice, but the lounge can get a little small if lots of friend groups in your floor like it. Putting the two couches facing each other and touching is a nice way to make a fort, if the lounge is empty. My friend said it's a great place to nap. Sometimes the RAs steal the vacuum but it all depends who you get. Also don't forget your card or else you'll be locked out and have to go down to the service center (outside the building, 2 min walk) to get it. Park your bike on the North side behind the building (not by the main entrance) for max campus access.
Bathrooms are very well cleaned and generally stocked, but I docked a star for my bathroom (2F, east, women's by room 207) having really bad hot water in the big shower (ALWAYS USE THE SMALL SHOWER) and the fact that the motion activated lights were very finicky and sometimes turned off mid-shower. If you jump around and wave your arms like a psycho before going in you should be good, but the sensor has to be activated in a super precise way so sometimes all the jumping jacks in the world won't get it." - 4 years ago7 student reviewers said they lived in Currant Hall during their freshman year

Pine Hall

"I've loved the social environment of Pine Hall and I've considered myself super lucky to have such cool dorm mates. They've definitely made the transition to college a lot easier. The common room made it pretty easy to meet people at the beginning of the year, and continues to be a great place to study, hang out, or meet new friends.
As far as the building goes, I like the relational proximity to other things on campus. It's just a short walk over to the dining commons and it's one of the closest dorms to Latitude. It's also the closest dorm to central campus, making it especially easy to get to buildings such as Geidt Hall and the TLC. Pine is also the farthest tercero dorm from the cows, which minimizes the smell a bit. However, I got used to the smell pretty quickly and don't mind smelling it every once in a while. It's also super nice to walk over and pet the cows when you're feeling stressed or just need a break from studying. There are plenty of bike racks nearby, so bike parking is never an issue.
One aspect of Pine Hall that I really like is the window nooks that are perfect for studying, reading, or talking to family/friends on the phone. The one closest to my room overlooks the quad between Scrub Oak, Pine, and Currant Hall so it's a great people watching spot. I'm on the third floor, so I also have a pretty good view of one of the Davis water towers, one of the landmarks that makes our campus special.
Pine Hall bathrooms are all-gender, which hasn't been an issue at all; I barely notice it. The communal bathrooms are also cleaned daily, and for the most part are kept clean by other residents. Living in Pine Hall has been a really enjoyable experience. " - 1 year ago8 student reviewers said they lived in Pine Hall during their freshman year

Regan Hall
based on 13 reviews
"What I mean by an "Other room type" was that my roommate and I shared an extra small double, and there was a shared desk space room that was connected to another double room. Basically our "double" was the line piece shape in Tetris, and there was a square room that connected us to another line piece double. So our actual 2 person personal space was really small. Regan hall isn't one building, it's a collection of smaller older halls in a separate area. I hadn't heard about this area before moving in because they never bring tour groups around that area, because the buildings aren't just a little old; they're extremely old. Even when it's winter, the rooms here are stuffy. The AC/heater is old and barely works. The multiple halls here are typically 3 stories tall, and there are only stairs, no elevators. On each given floor, there's only ever a female or male bathroom. So if you're unlucky, you may have to go down or up to another floor to use the restroom. If you choose Segundo, there's a chance you may be put into this area, and if so, I recommend you submit a change of room request as soon as it's available (mid-October usually). I moved into another hall in Segundo, and it was light years better. Don't hesitate to leave." - 4 years ago
