I am from India and studying since last year. The college is fine but the bathrooms are never cleaned. We have told the administration a lot of times but they just don't listen.

I think this is the best freshman dorm available here. It's super close to Wash Sq (only second to Lipton). I have seen a few roaches in the laundry room which is gross but its manageable. Having the dining halls are soooo convenient because we have the traditional all you can eat "downstein" and then a food court like "upstein" with a convenience store called "sidestein." It's super great. However, I got really lucky with my room placement. If possible get a room on the west tower with an ending in 21 or higher (I think) . Those rooms have street facing views on the westside (so u can see the sunset) and also you can see the mews or Washington square park which is awesome. If u get west tower room below 21 you will have a view just facing...

I recommend Weinstein as freshman dorm because its great location. But this building the elevator often broke and I had to waste my time on waiting.

Weinstein was the best freshman hall because of the location and amenities. Unfortunately, asthetics is not on the top of the list. The rooms are concrete walls and windows are few and small. My friends and I joked that it was a bougie prison cell. My roomates and I did have our own bathroom and most rooms had twin beds. The dining hall was literally a few steps away and downstairs. At one point it had the only Chick-fil-A in Manhattan but now they're many around town. They have a pool table, nice study areas and the community is really friend. You're right on WSP so you probably only have to walk 5 mins or less to get to class. I liked it as a first year dorm because it was the most convenient especially as I transitioned into colleges

Great place. If you got a bad roommate that’ll be tough cuz the rooms are on the smaller side but I personally loved my time in Weinstein. Great location. Great food. Great people. Great place.

It’s just not it. Rooms facing the inside on lower floors get little to no light during the day (all my plants died :( ). Roaches are not uncommon (in the bathtub!). It’s dark, small, and dirty compared to all the other freshman dorms, and really does look like a prison (especially the day you move in). I spent as little time as possible in my building. The elevators occasionally drop a little or one is broken often. Prepare for fire alarms in the middle of the night. Our floor had all-night power outages 5 times. Redeeming qualities are that it’s really quiet thanks to the cinderblock (and you can pretty much blast music without anyone else hearing), and of course the location. The access to food, especially our dearest sidestein is also o...

I actually LOVED living here. I met my boyfriend and almost all of my friends during my time in Weinstein. Maybe not the most comfortable, but it's cheap, close, has all the food (so you don't have to leave during winter), and at least during my year there, had a really nice community of people. Maybe because it's not as nice of a dorm, people are forced to interact and make friends. I also HIGHLY recommend choosing a thematic floor! Makes ALLLLLL the difference. The practice rooms do SUCK, but it's better than not having any.

The best thing about weinstein is it’s location. Such a blessing when you’re trying to get those extra 10 minutes of sleep in. It’s also got multiple dining locations which is nice when you don’t feel like hiking for sustenance. Aside from that however the rooms are kind of small even for a double, look lowkey prison-like and are pretty old. It’s nice to have a two-person bathroom but the bathroom itself is kinda old and sometimes weird water comes out of the shower...if you’re in the West tower, coming home every day to dimly-lit pee-yellow hallways also isn’t the best?? (Who thought that colour was a good idea?) Elevators are not the most reliable. But sometimes you can bond with your hallmates on how much you all hate Weinstein. Oh, also...

Weinstein is a little old, but it does the job as a freshman dorm! It’s really nice to have dining halls and Chick-fil-a in the building, and you’re really close to class and the park. Rooms are a bit industrial, with cinderblock and such. The triple was nice because it had two big windows which made for great lighting, and the triple also had a big closet which the doubles in Weinstein do not. Not a ton of counter space in the bathroom, I definitely recommend over-the-toilet shelving. We did get a dorm rat once, but he didn’t really bother us. Still, beware of that.
