Loftman Hall Reviews

Northeastern University

Reviews Summary

Loftman Hall is a well-located college dormitory close to Marino gym and a short walk to campus. It offers a variety of living arrangements, from quads to 8-person apartments, with a mix of single, double, and triple rooms. Most students appreciate the adequate room size, and larger apartments feature two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen, providing ample common areas for large groups. However, some students have reported that the smallest singles can be cramped and lack storage space. Some of the hall's common disadvantages include a lack of the elevator, narrow kitchens, as well as thin walls allowing noise intrusion from neighboring apartments. The building itself is in need of improvement with instances of leaky ceilings and, in some cases, damaged fire escape routes. Furthermore, some students have experienced inconveniences with infestations, such as rats and mice, possibly linked to the building's age. Despite the mentioned drawbacks, students have still found their overall experience in Loftman Hall largely positive due to the building's convenient location near campus facilities and social hotspots. The strong recommendation would be to maintain a clean living space to avoid potential issues.

The location was very nice, as it was close to Marino gym and an easy walk to campus. The room sizes were also good too since I had enough while sharing a double. There was a living room that was adequate too. One thing I disliked is the kitchen size. It was a very narrow walkway. The bathroom ceiling also leaked, so the building condition was not good. However, for the pricing it was still sufficient.

I was in an 8 person apartment with four doubles and 1 single. I was in the smallest single and it was miserable, no space, no light and no storage

The location is really convenient and accessible and the amount of space is nice for our 6 person apartment. The building itself is kind of old, but we have 3 doubles, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen, so it's a pretty nice layout.

My room was a triple turned into a double so my roommate and I had tons of space. We had a few mice which wasn’t ideal and the people above us clogged their toilet which caused water to leak into our room and bathroom. Also the heat just kinda turns on whenever so you have to sleep with a window open if you know it’ll be warm the next day. Besides that we had two bathrooms for five people which was amazing and a pretty spacious living room and okay kitchen. The walls are pretty thin so you will hear your upstairs neighbors stomping around at all times. Also no elevator so be prepared to hike up the stairs with laundry and groceries.

Lived here with 7 other dudes and myself. Fucking amazing experience cause of the people but the building is a pile of shit that was literally falling apart. A ceiling would leak onto one of my roommates beds, mice everywhere one of which made a nest in my room (he was friendly though so all good), water would actually trickle down the railing when it was really raining like some edgy movie scene, you'd wake up everyday with a stuffy nose cause of the mold problem. The place is a total shit storm but I'd still recommend it if you're a sophomore required to live on campus and have 7 friends you wanna live with.

I lived on the first floor so we hardly got any sunlight but other than that not too many complaints! We did have one mouse but it you keep your space clean you should be fine. We had a much bigger living/dinning area than I originally expected and it's in a great location. There's no printer in the building but you can run across the street to steast to print.

I am all about location where I live. Right across from steast if I needed to print anything. I felt safe at night walking between snell and loftman. Quick and easy to get to Newbury and Prudential. However, there were rats, terrible bathrooms with horrible toilets and we found a dead rat underneath our stove. Just keep your apartment clean.

My rooms fire escape led to an inescapable pit filled with broken glass - this is not an exaggeration. There were rats and mice in this building the entire time I lived there. The bedrooms are tiny but the common spaces were nice.

We had two bathrooms for five people, a good sized kitchen plus a living room and dining area. I had a really good time in this apartment Would have loved an elevator because I lived on the fourth floor but otherwise good times all around
