Great room, great bathroom, lots of space compared to other dorms, kitchen is good, natural light is pretty good. The building is super stale and no one really talks to each other (maybe just all upperclassmen dorms are this way). Location is pretty good but west village wind tunnel is real and this is prob the farthest dorm to a gym.
Overhyped and not worth the price >_< lowkey wasn't bad, not much of a dining area and there was a strange amount of bodily fluids in the elevators.
It's okay but honestly way overpriced and super overrated. Just go to Willis instead, it's a better experience and cheaper than WV
I had a corner room on a high floor - if you're on the north end of the building you can have a tremendous view of Back Bay or Mission Hill. WVA was built in 1999 I believe, and it is in very good shape overall. Been to several other appts in the building and they were equally nice, but not as cool as my corner unit. Mostly 4 person appts. Laundry was usually not fully occupied, but only in the basement which was a hajj from the upper floors. Bathroom was yuge and my double had more than enough space for 2 ppl. No idea who my neighbours or RA were, so no community feel imo. Only real downfall is its location on the edge of campus making most classes a 10 minute hike.
I lived in an apartment with two doubles and a single bathroom. The layout was great, and we were fortunate to have one of the huge floor-ceiling windows that overlooked the MFA, the Fens, and eventually Fenway - you can see the megatron during baseball season which was dope. The common area on the first floor was cool, as it had a pool table and good amount of modern seating for studying. Overall, I loved West A (north). My only gripe is three slow elevators was a bit lackluster for the amount of people who lived there, and sometimes lines would form.
Was an RA in WVA my second year. Had a single on the corner of the building so I got a living room with all windows looking into West Village Quad. AC was existent but would be very wonky. Would either be blowing out for a few minutes and make the room really cold or would be shut off for a few minutes and make the room hot again. Location is generally really good. If you’re CAMD you’ll be walking very short distances to get to classes. Only downside to location was the distance from dining halls. If you’re on meal plan or want to eat at/nearby dining halls, WVA is the farthest place from them on campus. The entrance to WVA South is also in a weird spot. You’ll have to walk around a bunch of buildings to get to it.
I loved living in west a! It's got a convenient location, really nice bedrooms and bathrooms (I was in an enhanced double), 3 elevators, and we lived on the 12th floor so a great view! You're definitely paying top dollar to live there but it was worth it.
All of the West Villages are very nice. With West A I never had any rodent/pest problems like I had with freshman and sophomore dorms, and its very nice to have a private bedroom in a shared apartment. I was on the side overlooking the Wentworth field and it makes for great views with good sunsets. However there were often games being played at the field up until 10-11 at night some nights which would add to the noise outside (it was never too bad though), but the games also resulted in the bright field lights being on until as late as midnight some nights and that would sometimes make it hard to sleep unless the blinds were completely shut. The AC is a big plus, but you have less control over it than you might think - during the winter the...
Very nice dorm with a full kitchen and a huge living room. Great building and decent location being in the WV quad.
